On The Road At Last!

We made it!  We are on the road and headed north!  Praise God!

It hardly seems real after more than ten years of dreaming and planning and preparing.  <Pinching myself>  Ouch!  It’s Real.  Our big excitement yesterday, Day 1 of trip, was me running out of gas, haha :).  First time that has ever happened to me on a motorcycle!  The stress and fatigue of weeks of morning to night preparation must have got to me.  We decided to drive up the Pacific Coast Highway so our views (see pics) were stunning and the weather was beautiful.

I need to back up a minute though before I forget how we managed to get to Day 1 of the trip.  Namely, the help of many wonderful people!  We are so thankful and grateful and absolutely humbled for their help in getting us on the road.  They are; in no particular order…Scott and Kathryn (from sharing their home to returning library books and the million things in-between), Dan and Melissa (also for sharing their home with us to watering Sharon’s garden and SO many more),  Tom and John (for their untiring mechanical assistance), Hannah and Doug (for their amazing hospitality and storing our stuff while we are gone), Eric (at Stokes Motosports), Kevin and Tom (thanks for the free driving class), our church family at CLC in Santa Cruz, our SC friends: Ben, Silvie, Scott J, Ann, Meggan, and many more,  Sharon’s incredible ‘work family’ at El Camino Hospital, to all our family and friends in the US, Honduras and abroad who have encouraged us and who will miss us on this very long trip (we miss you too!), and so many others who have blessed us.  Your hospitality, friendship, love, and sharing of your lives has been a joy.

We also want to thank God for all the miracles we have seen in the past weeks and probably many more that we failed to notice.  It has increased our faith that God cares about EVERY aspect of our lives.  Even finding that little bolt I dropped in the dirt.

Time to get back on the road…

Chris & Sharon

Have fun. I wish I were in your path and could ride along for a couple hundred miles. Ride to live, live to ride!

    1. We are certainly looking forward to where the riding will take us…and has already (the Pacific Coast Highway is gorgeous!). Thanks for joining us for the ride – virtually 🙂

      1. Sharon and Chris I saw your 1,000 blog and tried to reply to it but I couldn’t see my reply or if anyone else did either. FB does work though if you get to it. Lol. This is a test.

        1. Test Passed! See my previous reply for the explanation of why it didn’t show up before. Glad you are following us Carol. Say Hi to Allan!

          1. Thanks for explanation on my replies. I did see on your last blog there weren’t any other replies. That explains it. It is so good to hear from you. I looked on the map of Canada and the road you said you were taking. Looks like there isn’t many cities and kinda in the mountains. How far are you now? Btw I was set up with word press from a few years ago when my niece’s husband got a very fast moving cancer and she shared her journey with us. Yours is a lot happier journey. Take care it is fun following you. I’ll tell Alan you said hi.

          2. So glad we got it all sorted :). Just wrote a new update, so you should be up to speed on our journey. Glad you are sharing it with us!
