Travel Plans, Migraine Treatments & Food Video

We hope you are well and enjoying the new year! We had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. Lately, we have been super busy making Honduras preparations and visiting with as many people as possible in open air settings. We wanted to give you a quick update on my travel plans and Sharon’s two new migraine treatments.

Sharon and I met with the doctor about the Brain Mapping and BioFeedback treatments for her migraines and we have decided to go ahead and do it. So, she will be staying in Melbourne, Florida for the next three months while she receives treatment two times a week.

In other migraine news, we were looking into an expensive new drug that has been reported to help people who suffer from severe migraines. The only problem was the high cost of the drug, about $700 per dose and one dose needed each month. Due to some amazing generosity Sharon was gifted four months worth of this new medication!!! We could hardly believe it. We should know within the next three months if this new therapy will be an effective treatment for her.

I bought my ticket for Honduras and I will fly out on January 19th. This will get me there before the Honduran school year starts the first week of February; very important for a new school principal. Since Sharon needs to remain in the US for her treatments we will spend at least the next three months apart. Until now, we have never been apart for more than two weeks during our 16 years of marriage…so your prayers are appreciated! After spending every minute together for 231 days in Argentina this is going to be a bit of an extreme in the other direction for us!

For those of you who are interested; Sharon made a five minute video about typical Honduran foods and put together a PDF document containing the Honduran Recipes on how to prepare most of the foods mentioned in the video. We hope you enjoy this delicious information. As they say in Honduras, “Buen Provecho!” Which roughly translates, “Enjoy your meal!”

Here are just a few, of the many, things we are thankful for right now:

  • The generosity of family and friends with their time, homes, meals, vehicles and so much more!
  • The opportunity to try a new migraine medicine that may help Sharon’s terrible headaches
  • Being able to renew old friendships and make new ones

These are the things we would appreciate your thoughts and prayers about in the coming days:

  • That these new migraine treatments will be successful for Sharon
  • Safe travels for Chris and his luggage and wisdom in preparing for the 2021 school year
  • The three months separation would draw us closer together

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

So grateful for having been able to see you two ❣️ and had the opportunity to have an open heart conversation with you both. Sharon, if you are here for the next 3 months, I’d love to see you again and treat you to dinner and more chit chat. Lot’s has happened since our talk at Gleason and would love to share it with you. As always, God is good and show’s His strength in our weakness. Chris, you will be in my prayers as you begin your time in Honduras. I will keep you close at heart ❤️. Sending you both
